Tenerife

Tenerife 2004, Montaña Blanca

Montaña Blanca is a mountain next to Mount Teide with an elevation of 2,750 metres.

The hiking trail starts at a tourist information centre and goes right across a sparsely vegetated mountain landscape, past the Huevos del Teide, to the summit. The hike was scheduled for 4 3/4 hours, but it took us quite a bit longer because the thin mountain air makes hiking more difficult. However, the view from the summit made up for the exertion. And if you still have plenty of energy reserves, you can climb Mount Teide itself from Montaña Blanca. 😉

Tenerife 2004

Photos from the Tenerife holiday in 2004.

The photos were re-edited with a higher resolution in November 2021 and some were newly digitised from the film negative.

Tenerife 2004, 3D

A few 3D pictures of Tenerife. To view them, your head should be at least a metre away from the screen. Then you look at the seam between the two pictures and start to cross your eyes until the two images have merged into one. With a little bit of practice, you will then see a three-dimensional image, completely without any visual aids.

Tenerife 2002

This year, we went back to our favourite island, Tenerife. This time we ended up in Costa Adeje. It is nice and quiet there, but the tourist resort of Playa de las Americas is within walking distance - for those looking for the hustle and bustle.

Tenerife is a beautiful island for hiking with diverse landscapes. It is actually a shame to just lie on the beach or be carted around the island in a tourist bus. This year, for the first time, a hike or two was also on the agenda for us.

Update: For this gallery, the original film was completely rescanned and digitally retouched for the 2010 redesign. In 2021, it was retouched again for larger pictures.
