A visit to the Pyramids of Güímar. There are also a few photos from the hike we started to the Sombrero de Chasna. After climbing Guajara, the full circuit was ultimately just too exhausting for us. 😉
Guajara is a 2,718m high mountain on the edge of the Teide caldera in Tenerife. The hike to its summit is strenuous, but still very manageable for experienced hikers.
Pictures from the 2006 Tenerife holiday. In separate galleries, there are also pictures of two hikes.
The Orotava Valley is located in northern Tenerife. Our hike goes from La Caldera through the upper Orotava Valley to Aguamansa. It leads through picturesque pine forests with lush vegetation, past the Órganos rocks and ends in Aguamansa.
At 3,707 m, the Teide is the highest mountain in Spain. You can get almost to the top of the crater quite comfortably by cable car. From here you can enjoy a magnificent view or hike further to the summit, although you need a special permit for this.
The temperatures were quite frosty, I wish I had brought my gloves.
A cable car ticket is not exactly cheap at €20 per person. The small print states that the maximum stay is 1 hour. They check before the descent, so you should make sure to be back at the cable car station on time.
